President Bola Tinubu submitted a budget proposal amounting to N1.48 trillion for the Rivers State Government to the National Assembly on Thursday for their consideration and approval. The President indicated that this budget proposal was necessary due to the Supreme Court’s annulment of the state’s 2025 budget and the current state of emergency in place. According to the President, ₦324 billion of this total will be allocated for infrastructure, ₦166 billion for healthcare, ₦75.6 billion for education, and ₦31.4 billion for agriculture. He also mentioned that the budget aims to create approximately 6,000 jobs in the agricultural sector and urged lawmakers to swiftly pass the budget for the benefit of the state and its residents.
